This beautiful obi is approximately 12 feet long and 1 foot in width.  It is has never been used and has lovely embroidery of Japanese scenery, flowers and herons in golds, reds, creams and greens.  It could be used for its original purpose - a Japanese “belt” to be wrapped around a kimono in a elaborate, ceremonial method - or the textile could be used in many unique and creative ways - a table runner, part of a quilt, cushions, wall hangings.  Your imagination is the only limit!
